The Chicago Sewers: 14th Plaza Tunnel and Union Drive Lower Tunnel (Gallery 19)
While there are 2 14th street, this is the 1 that is further south. This should be my 3rd gallery exclusively on the South side.
July 26, 2009 10:21 a.m.
This is da South side! The following images will be the left manhole, followed by the right manhole.
Are these 2 manhole lids connected? Yes they are!
August 14, 2009 1:38 p.m.
I wouldn't have found out about this place had I not been invited to a party by the N.E.I.U. boxing club instructor, Israel Gonzalez. I happen to know somebody that
lived walking distance from this place, Rich Fernandez, and as I go down the left manhole, he will cover it up and when I'm ready to come out, he'll lift the lid for me
in time before the next car comes. Always looking for assistants for sewer explorations, yup.
1:26 p.m. On the left is the steps to the 2nd manhole lid.
1:28 p.m. This is looking down as I'm under the 2nd manhole. Now off to the other side.
1:29 p.m. And, like tradition, I plant my seeds!
1:28 p.m. This is to go back where I came from, except not going up, but down.
These tunnels are like 11 foot tall or so.
Video of the entire thing, that is, me climbing up the steps and going back to where I was.
Video of me coming out. That is, Rich Fernandez lifting the lid for me to run out in time for before the cars come.
You can see another video similar to this on the next gallery.
I asked Rich if he wanted to be on the site and he didn't think he helped me out enough to be on it but that's cool I said he could be on it and bam, group photo.
Not that a photo with the sewer faggot is special or anything...
Then, after this there was another spot I knew of that I wanted to go so we went to Harrison tunnel by Ashland.
