An Introduction to Contract
7/29/2009.
There can't be a spelling mistake in a contract. Contracts only exist in the minds of the people who make them. Written contracts are only used to help courts figure out what the contract actually is in the minds of the people who made it.
There are some exceptions to this, such as the parol evidence rule. But if you want to argue that the contract is not legal, then the parol evidence rule can't apply (since the parol evidence rule only applies when the written contract clearly and completely describes the agreement).
