When You See Something Wrong - Do Something About It

When you see something wrong - do something about it.

Other people's actions do affect us, and we have every right to judge them and react to them. The only special consideration is that we must only react with _force_ when we are responding to actions that are themselves coercive. This is the only restriction, and it is *not* a restriction on judgment, it is solely a restriction on response.

We can still judge the action as wrong and act on that judgment.

Is judging someone a waste of time, if they don't give a damn what you think?

It is not a waste of time. In fact, it is imperative that we judge the actions of others to gather the information we need to decide how to deal with that person. To trade with another person, you need to know what their values are, and the best way to determine that is by evaluating their actions and judging them as right or wrong.

The only restriction is that we must not respond coercively to non-coercive actions. Otherwise, we have a large collection of responses available to us, and we can and must choose among them constantly.

Judging someone is not immoral.

So, if I'm trying to hire someone, I shouldn't care if they're lazy or not. After all, that would be a senseless judgment.

Do not evade a very important fact of reality - people must judge many actions that other people take, coercive or not, in order to decide how to interact with that person. Prior actions are indicative of principles and allow 1 to determine a pattern of conduct.

It is *always* okay to judge someone.

Actions that are wrong should be morally condemned.

You can pretty much categorize immoral action 1 of 2 ways:

1.)He seeks his own destruction, and this furthers his cause. In which case, we can certainly condemn his decision to seek his own destruction. If it is proper to seek one's own destruction, why should we not seek it ourselves? And if it is not proper, why should we not condemn it in others?

2.)He seeks something other than his own destruction and is acting in the erroneous belief that he will thereby acquire what he wants. Certainly we can condemn people who act in contradiction to their own values. If not, why should we not act contrary to our own values?

If you see something wrong - do something about it.

The world is not an evil place because of the people whom do evil, but by those whom sit around and allow those that do evil.

The world isn't evil because there are evil people - but when good people do nothing about it.

If there is something wrong with __, it will continue to stay that way until people try to do something about it, and it often involves opening their mouth.
