Criticism to Bedding Experts, Corporate

8/29/2009.

Why corporate? Because not directed at the local store.

As my bike was locked against a pole outside my apartment (apartment 4), my bicycle wheels were stolen from it.

I went to the police station, made another police report. This is my 4th police report with the Chicago Police Department (or so I think). 1 for 2006, 1 for 2007, the 3rd 1 for 2008, and this 1 for 2009.

I remember August 2008, after that bigger stole my bike, and making that police report, I go damn, 3 police reports, 1 for each year, and wondering if there will be 1 for 2009, which there was..

The following is a feedback (e-mail) I sent to Bedding Experts, on their official website, on August 24, 2009:

/*

Yesterday, I went into a Bedding Experts and asked if the store had surveillance cameras. The manager asked why and I said my bicycle wheels were stolen outside from my bike and was wondering if there were surveillance cameras that had looked outside. He goes I'm sorry, he can only use the cameras for in-store purposes, not outside store purposes, so I asked if I had to talk to someone that was higher up or the manager or in charge and he said it was him. Then I went if I had a police report number and all that, and he said I had to take it to the corporate, so higher up.

So, I'm requesting "permission" for the cameras that might have viewed the incident of people removing my bike wheels from my bike across the street.

And if so, it would not be for my own personal purposes but to go straight to the local police department.

This is the Bedding Experts on the intersection of Pulaski and Milwaukee in Chicago, Illinois. I already made a police report with the Chicago Police Department. This video would be an add-on to it.

Thanks.

Neal Conroy.

To do the research beforehand, I noticed my bike wheels were gone at 5:18 p.m. on August 22. That day in the morning and afternoon, the bike wheels were attached. To test whether the surveillance cameras can view the incident, my bike without wheels is still locked and chained by a pole across the street.

So what's my criticism to Bedding Experts? You guessed it. They still have not responded to my e-mail. The page goes to a thank you page, as well as 2 phone numbers for contact.

Now, I might be critical about Bedding Experts local. Suppose if 2 police officers, dressed in police uniform, went to the store and asked to see the surveillance cameras and all that. And the young manager complied. Then I know what a bigot he is.

If the policy of Bedding Experts is that such the power of surveillance camera usage is designated to the discretion of the manager, then I criticize the local store, too.

But seriously, if a murder happened outside the windows, is the manager going to tell me I can't use them?

Hence my 2 criticisms to Bedding Experts corporate, of this policy, and that they did not reply to my feedback e-mail.

Can Bedding Experts redeem themselves? Yes they can, by replying to that e-mail. A big middle finger goes to them if they do not reply to my e-mail, and it's already been 5 days since.
